The Main Use of Coaxial Cable
Coaxial cable is implying as two concentric wires, in a shape of cylindrical, with some kind a dielectric insulator placed between two wires. The wire in the center act as conductor and the other one placed as the outer conductor. The outer conductor surrounded by a flexible, tubular insulating layer conducting shield.
Coaxial cables are used in the transmission channels and are made to give protection from outside signal disturbance. Coaxial cables are used primarily for audio video transmission and other wide band application such as computer network. Although it’s cost more than the usual telephone wire, it is much more withstand to disturbance and will carry much more information or data.
The principles work of coaxial cables is by delivering the signal through the inner conductor when it go trough among components. Throughout the transmission operational, the signal constantly connected with the outer conductor. The outer conductor wire layer is made by materials that will conduct as a mirror for the signal, so the outer conductor reflect the signal back to the inner conductor, so the signal is confined in the inner conductor to preserve and maintain the quality of the signal. The process of reflected signal will repeated throughout the cable until it arrives to the receptor component.
